Science Fairs - Hosted by schools thought the Mojave Desert, The MDAQMD & the Air & Waste Management Association-Mojave Desert Chapter and MEEC, sponsor a special award - Outstanding Environmental Science Project Award, award recipients receive a $50 savings bond. 2008 Pollution Prevention Week - The District's 13th annual Pollution Prevention Contest for 2008 has concluded. The winning posters along with the artists will be featured in the 2009 District calendars that will be made available in December 2008. In December, call the District at (760) 245-1661 x6717 to request a copy or stop by and pick one up. This years theme "Air Intervention: Pollution Prevention" was quite the success with over 500 entries. Winners were honored during a special awards ceremony held during Pollution Prevention Week on September 25, 2008.

Mojave Environmental Education Consortium (MEEC) - MEEC is a public-private, non-profit organization under the umbrella of the California Regional Environmental Education Community (CREEC) Region 10. Our combined mission is to link educators with high quality environmental education resouces to improve the environmental literacy of California's students.
