The Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District is closed on Thanksgiving Day as well as the Friday after Thanksgiving. The agency will also be closed beginning Dec. 24, 2025, reopening Jan. 5, 2026.
MDAQMD closes during these periods for efficiency and as a cost-saving measure. District staff will be available to monitor air quality conditions and keep the public informed of any necessary air quality news and alerts.
Those wishing to file an air quality complaint can do so any time using our online form or by calling 800-635-4617. District staff follows up on every complaint submitted.
Public records requests submitted during the Thanksgiving closure will be processed on our about Dec. 1, 2025.
Public records requests submitted during the Christmas and New Year's holiday closure period will be processed on our about Jan. 5, 2026.
District staff is available to respond to requests for public information including media requests. Call Public Information Officer Martial Haprov at 760-493-3546 for all public information and media requests.
MDAQMD is the air pollution control authority and permitting agency for the High Desert portion of San Bernardino County and the Palo Verde Valley in Riverside County.
