Positive-incentive program aimed at recognizing gas stations that work proactively to prevent air pollution at their facilities

A Mojave Green Gas Station is a dispensing facility located within the jurisdictional boundaries of the MDAQMD where pollution prevention and reduction techniques are successfully employed as part of routine operating procedures.

A Mojave Green Gas Station may be identified by the District-awarded decal displayed in its window and on its pumps. The Mojave Green decal identifies the displaying facility as an environmentally responsible establishment which has earned the privilege of being recognized by the MDAQMD for its "Green" efforts.

How can my facility become a Mojave Green Gas Station?

To qualify, a station must pass a permit inspection "deficiency-free," and have no air quality-related violations on record for a minimum of three years. To meet these two requirements, a station must be in compliance with all permit conditions and applicable District rules and regulations, including District Rule 461 - Gasoline Transfer and Dispensing and California Air Resources Board Executive Orders.

What constitutes a "Deficiency-free" inspection?

In order to be awarded the Mojave Green status, a station must install and properly maintain only certified equipment, conduct and pass all required vapor recovery testing within time limits, maintain all required logs and records, and pass all inspection criteria listed in their MDAQMD-issued permit, in their Executive Orders, and in the most current edition of ARB's V-RED List.
