The Mojave Desert AQMD recognizes businesses and permitted facilities that have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to clean air through the development of voluntary activities that reduce or prevent air pollution emissions.

The Exemplar Award  is the District's highest honor, recognizing exceptional business, industry, agencies, organizations, educational institutions and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the prevention and/or control of air pollution within High Desert and Palo Verde Valley communities.

Mojave Green Gas Station is a positive-incentive program aimed at recognizing gas stations that work proactively to prevent air pollution at their facilities.

MDAQMD presents the Air Aware Award to select permitted facilities within its jurisdiction who meet several criteria including successful annual permit inspections (at least three years consecutively), no history of compliance notices within that time period, exceptional records keeping, rules and regulation knowledge of facility staff during inspections, ease of inspection and more.
